Raxio Data Centre: Uganda’s First Certified Tier III Data Centre

In recent years, Uganda’s public sector and businesses have experienced extensive digital transformation, leading to increased data usage and storage. Raxio Data Centre seeks to support Uganda’s economic growth and digitalization by addressing the increasing demand for critical data center infrastructure.

Launched in 2020, Raxio Data Centre is Uganda’s first state-of-the-art, open-access, carrier-neutral, Tier III data center, housing up to 400 racks and delivering 1.5MW of IT power at full capacity.  Raxio Uganda focuses primarily on the Ugandan market to address its growing data needs, the inadequacy of existing data infrastructure, and changing regulation.

In October 2020, Raxio received the Uptime Institute Tier III Certification after meeting the stringent requirements, becoming Uganda’s first certified Tier III Data Centre and demonstrating their ambition to achieve the highest global standards of modern data centers.

The Tier III Certification affirms Raxio’s commitment to delivering the highest level of colocation service availability to customers and will create suitable conditions for international clients to bring next-generation services to Uganda, driving economic growth.
