Gigspace, the Tanzanian freelance marketplace promoting outsourcing

by:

Freelancing is increasingly becoming a major sector of the workforce worldwide. But several challenges currently plague the freelancing and outsourcing sector, the most prominent of which is seamlessly finding the right clients or talents.

Based in Tanzania, Gigspace is a freelance platform founded in 2019 by Ashura Babi, Aziz Msuya, and Steve Mawalla. Gigspace connects businesses to skilled individuals across various fields to collaborate online while saving costs of hiring full-time workers.

Services provided on the Gigspace platform include IT Consulting, Digital Marketing, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Public Relations, Social Media Marketing, Web Development, Application Development, and Search Engine Marketing (SEM).

The digital solution started as a mere thought in Ashura’s mind, having seen that small businesses struggle to afford full-time hiring at their early stages. She reckoned the solution to this problem was creating a platform where small businesses and entrepreneurs can get into contracts with freelancers and seamlessly receive the service they need.

Since its establishment in 2019, Gigspace has steadily grown and aims to constantly enlarge its freelancer and client base until it becomes East Africa’s number one and largest freelance marketplace.
