Women have the capacity to make impactful change; unfortunately, not every woman realizes the power she possesses. In parts of the world where gender discrimination is still a major issue, only a few women have been able to rise, and shine their light.
Farida Bedwei, despite adversity, has proven herself one of the brightest technological minds and sits at the top of the ladder in a world where few African female engineers are in tech.
Growing up, she was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. However, never allowing her disability to stand in her way or slow her down, Farida currently servers as the co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Logicel Ltd. A Ghanaian software company that develops banking solutions to promote financial inclusion, especially for the microfinance industry.
Through her hard work and determination, Farida has become one of Ghana's most influential women in business and finance and has won herself several awards and global recognition.
Nonetheless, Farida is an inspiration to everyone, male or female, disabled or not. Her story is a reminder that we all have the power to change our lives, write our own stories, and create the future we desire.
