During the pandemic, many business owners took to social media to run their businesses but the lack of tools to efficiently carry out transactions via these platforms made it challenging. Having spent its early days in FMCG distribution, ChapChapGo identified the lack of simple, affordable, and locally-tailored tools as a major challenge in digitizing commerce in Kenya.
Kenyan-based ChapChapGo started in 2020 as a data-driven social enterprise redefining the distribution of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG). Co-founded by Soud Hyder and Amine Aboura, ChapChapGo helps bring better value to consumers by directly connecting customers to wholesalers via digital commerce.
After about a year of successfully running the FMCG distribution business, Soud says they decided to modify their business model to facilitate hassle-free digital commerce for business owners in Kenya. ChapChapGo’s new solution also consists of tools that enable businesses to conveniently transact online with simple invoicing, automated reconciliation, inventory management, and faster M-PESA checkouts.
Soud and Amine are passionate about promoting tech solutions for Africa by Africans and intend to scale their solutions across and beyond the continent.
